China’s fixed-asset investment dropped 7.2% year on year in the first nine months of 2026, official data showed. Investment totaled around 33.41 trillion yuan during this period, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said in a statement. In September alone, China’s fixed-asset investment edged up 0.07% from the previous month, NBS data showed.

By sector, investment in the primary industry declined 3.9% year on year, while investment in the secondary and tertiary industries fell 2.7% and 10.0%, respectively. Industrial investment decreased 2.8%, with manufacturing investment down 2.1% year on year.

By industry, in the first nine months, fixed-asset investment in China’ s textile industry rose 4.2% year on year, maintaining positive growth despite the overall decline in manufacturing investment.
